A liniment is a topical remedy that helps relieve pain, stiffness, and sore muscles—usually made with a combination of isopropyl alcohol and witch hazel. Together they are highly effective because the alcohol is quickly absorbed by the skin, carrying with it the beneficial properties of the added herbs, while the witch hazel soothes and comforts. 


The herbs in this formulation have long been favorites for soothing tired, sore, and achy muscles. Lavender is a gentle, calming herb, and comfrey is used for healing tissues. The gentle heat from the cayenne and the soothing chill of peppermint and menthol make this rub very fast-acting and effective.


Liniments should only be used externally and on unbroken skin. Apply as needed.
